1. On average, they have a longer life span.
2. By adopting, you can help save a dog or cat from abandonment or euthanasia.

It is always better to get a pet from a person or family. There are many reasons for this:
1. You can know what one or both parents look like.
2. You can view their living conditions.
3. You can get a good and accurate history of the pet’s life.
4. If anything ever comes about that you need information on possible health issues and other littermates, this is your only possible source.
5. Pets obtained from pet stores, shelters, and puppy mills will have a much higher incidence of behavioral problems, especially separation anxiety and storm phobias.
